EDLD 5399 Self-Assessment Reflection

Self-Assessment Reflection - EDLD 5399

The Lamar Superintendent courses have prepared me well for striving to become a Superintendent.  After completing the self-assessment for this course in all domain areas, most of my responses were strengths now.  I did not feel as if I needed to rate my comfort level in any areas as needing improvement.  A few areas were still rated competent, but not yet comfortable enough with them to rate them as strengths.

Domain one and seven were my strengths.  I rated each competency in these areas as a strength.  Domains three, four, and five were the three weakest areas for me.  I did not have any incompetent ratings; however, over half of each of these domains was rated as competent versus a strength.  This is mostly due to the fact that I do not have much hands-on experience in these areas.  They are definitely my weaker areas and areas where I will continue to grow professionally.

Overall, I rated myself with forty-eight strength competencies and thirty-nine competent competencies.   I have learned and become more comfortable in many areas of the superintendent domains and competencies throughout the courses at Lamar.
